Introduction
Closed head steel pail, also known as tight head metal bucket, is an integral sealed steel container with only small filling bungs on the top surface, no large open mouth like open head pails. Made of high-strength galvanized steel or coated carbon steel, it features excellent structural rigidity, superior leakproof performance and good pressure resistance.
This 5-gallon tight head steel bucket conforms to international standard dimensions, can apply for UN dangerous goods packaging certification, and is the mainstream packaging solution for liquid chemicals, solvents, petroleum products and hazardous materials in global export logistics.
Core Anatomy & Components
Body Design: Constructed with a straight-sided body using cold-rolled steel sheets joined via a double-welded seam to completely eliminate leakage. Whole barrel body adopts multi-layer seam welding and double crimp bottom structure, high mechanical strength, resistant to collision, extrusion and stacking deformation.
Integrated Openings: Equipped with pre-fabricated bungs (threaded plugs), specialized Rieke openings, or screw caps situated on the top head.
Dispensing Mechanisms: Often paired with a Rieke Flexspout®, which crimps tightly onto the opening to provide clean, controlled pouring without splashing.
Carrying Handle: Features a heavy-duty metal wire bail handle attached to the sides for manual transport and lifting.
