Introduction of 5 Gallon Plastic Pails

1. Product Overview

A standard 5-gallon plastic pail holds approximately 18.9 liters, one of the most prevalent plastic packaging containers for global industrial storage and export logistics. It is manufactured via injection molding of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), featuring lightweight construction and robust chemical inertness. This product has two mainstream configurations: open-head pails with removable lids and integral tight-head sealed pails. Multiple optional accessories including lug covers, lever lock clamp rings, built-in carrying handles and spout caps are available to satisfy diverse filling, sealing and pallet shipping demands. Compared with steel pails, HDPE plastic buckets excel at resisting rust and weak corrosive solutions, widely adopted across chemical, food, cosmetic and agricultural export businesses.

2. Main Product Classification & Structural Features

2.1 Open Head 5 Gallon Plastic Pail

The entire top opening can be fully uncovered for easy loading of solids, paste and high-viscosity slurry.

- Lever lock ring lid: Tool-free repeated opening and resealing, ideal for materials requiring periodic sampling inspection. Equipped with elastic rubber gaskets to prevent leakage during long-distance sea transport.
- Crimp-on lug lid: Economical one-time sealing solution for bulk export shipments.
- Integrated curved plastic bail handle facilitates manual handling and pallet stacking.

2.2 Closed Head Tight-Head Plastic Pail

Equipped with two threaded bung holes on the fixed top: one large filling plug and one small vent plug. Designed exclusively for liquid products. The vent hole releases internal air during filling to avoid container bulging, while threaded caps with gaskets effectively suppress liquid seepage and solvent volatilization. Selected models pass UN dangerous goods certification for transporting Class II and III hazardous liquids.

3. Core Advantages
1. Powerful chemical resistance
HDPE raw material stays intact against most dilute acids, alkalis, detergents, lubricants and water-based formulations. No rust occurs even in humid maritime storage environments, outperforming ordinary iron barrels for corrosive contents. Food-grade virgin HDPE options comply with international food contact regulations.
2. Lightweight to cut overall logistics cost
Plastic pails weigh far less than equivalent steel pails, effectively reducing total cargo weight and ocean freight expenses. Their smooth outer walls avoid scratching stacked goods on pallets.
3. Excellent stacking stability & impact resistance
Thickened barrel walls deliver great compression resistance. Filled buckets can be stacked multiple layers in warehouses and shipping containers without deformation. The structure withstands bumps during road and international freight transportation.
4. Flexible customized solutions
Available options include bucket wall thickness, body color, UV stabilizer for outdoor storage, silk-screened customer logos and warning labels. Multiple gasket materials (EPDM, neoprene, food-grade silicone) can be matched according to stored contents. Qualified products meet EU PPWR packaging recycling requirements.
5. Reusability & recyclability
Cleaned empty HDPE pails can be reused for repeated packaging. Waste barrels are fully recyclable, conforming to global sustainable packaging policies.

4. Typical Application Fields
- Chemical industry: Water-based coatings, cleaning solvents, resin emulsions, industrial additives
- Food sector: Syrups, edible additives, sauces (food-grade virgin material only)
- Daily chemicals: Hand sanitizers, creams, concentrated detergents
- Export packaging: Palletized shipments to Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East; UN-rated versions for dangerous goods delivery
