How to conduct quality inspection during the production of Tinplate pail
In the production process of Tinplate Pail, quality inspection is an important link to ensure product quality. The following are the quality inspection methods in the production process of iron barrels:
1. Raw material inspection
Steel inspection
Appearance inspection: Check whether the surface of the steel is flat, without scratches, rust, holes and other defects. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as a magnifying glass to check.
Thickness measurement: Use tools such as a micrometer or ultrasonic thickness gauge to measure whether the thickness of the steel meets the requirements. Different specifications of iron barrels have different requirements for steel thickness, and they need to be tested according to specific circumstances.
Material analysis: Use chemical composition analysis or metallographic analysis to detect whether the material of the steel meets the standard. Ensure that the strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and other properties of the steel meet the use requirements of the Metal Pails.
Auxiliary material testing
Sealant testing: Check whether the viscosity, elasticity, corrosion resistance and other properties of the sealant meet the requirements. Tensile tests, compression tests and other tests can be performed to evaluate the performance of the sealant.
Coating testing: Test whether the adhesion, hardness, corrosion resistance, weather resistance and other properties of the coating meet the requirements. The inspection can be carried out by using methods such as scratch test, pencil hardness test, salt spray test, etc.
Gasket inspection: Check whether the material, size, elasticity, etc. of the gasket meet the requirements. Ensure that the gasket can play a good sealing role to prevent the iron drum from leaking.
2. Production process inspection
Blanking inspection
Dimension inspection: Use measuring tools (such as calipers, tape measures, etc.) to check whether the blanking size meets the requirements. Ensure that the length, width and other dimensions of the steel plate are accurate, providing a good foundation for subsequent processing procedures.
Edge quality inspection: Check whether the blanking edge is neat and burr-free. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as a magnifying glass to check. If the edge quality is poor, it may affect the subsequent welding quality and the appearance quality of the iron barrel.
Rolled barrel body inspection
Roundness inspection: Use tools such as a roundness meter or a caliper to check whether the roundness of the metal pails meets the requirements. Excessive roundness deviation may affect the appearance quality and performance of the iron barrel, such as rolling stability, stacking stability, etc.
Diameter inspection: Use tools such as calipers or outside diameter micrometers to check whether the diameter of the barrel body meets the requirements. Excessive diameter deviation may cause the barrel cover and barrel bottom to not fit tightly with the barrel body, affecting the sealing of the iron barrel.
Welding quality inspection: Perform visual inspection and non-destructive testing on the welds of the barrel body. The appearance inspection mainly checks whether the weld is flat, free of pores, slag inclusions, cracks and other defects. Non-destructive testing can use ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing and other methods to detect whether there are defects inside the weld.
Stamping barrel cover and barrel bottom inspection
Dimension inspection: Use measuring tools (such as calipers, depth gauges, etc.) to detect whether the diameter, thickness and other dimensions of the barrel cover and barrel bottom meet the requirements. Ensure that the matching dimensions of the barrel cover and barrel bottom with the barrel body are accurate to ensure the sealing of the iron barrel.
Appearance quality inspection: Check whether the surface of the barrel cover and barrel bottom is flat, free of scratches, rust, deformation and other defects. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as magnifying glasses to check.
Welding inspection
Appearance inspection of welds: Perform an appearance inspection on all welds of the iron barrel to check whether the welds are flat, free of pores, slag inclusions, cracks and other defects. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as magnifying glasses to check.
Non-destructive testing: According to needs, non-destructive testing is performed on important welds, such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, etc. Nondestructive testing can detect whether there are defects inside the weld to ensure the quality and strength of the weld.
Surface treatment testing
Rust removal quality testing: Check whether the rust removal effect on the surface of the iron barrel meets the requirements. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as a magnifying glass to check to ensure that there is no rust, oil or other impurities on the surface of the iron barrel.
Coating quality testing: Check whether the coating quality of the iron barrel meets the requirements. Adhesion test, hardness test, corrosion resistance test, etc. can be performed. Adhesion test can use the cross-cut test or pull-off test to test whether the adhesion between the paint and the surface of the iron barrel is good. Hardness test can use pencil hardness test or pendulum hardness test to test whether the hardness of the paint meets the requirements. Corrosion resistance test can use salt spray test, wet heat test and other methods to test whether the corrosion resistance of the paint is good.
3. Finished product inspection
Appearance quality inspection
Overall appearance inspection: Check whether the appearance of the iron barrel is flat, without scratches, rust, deformation and other defects. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as a magnifying glass to check.
Printing quality inspection: If the Metal Bucket needs to be printed with a logo or pattern, check whether the printing quality is clear, firm, without blur, without falling off and other defects. You can use the naked eye or use tools such as a magnifying glass to check.
Dimension inspection
Use measuring tools (such as calipers, tape measures, etc.) to check whether the height, diameter, thickness and other dimensions of the iron barrel meet the requirements. Ensure that the size of the iron barrel is within the allowable error range and meets the use requirements.
Sealing test
Hydraulic pressure test: Fill the metal pails with water, then apply a certain pressure, and observe whether the iron barrel leaks. The hydraulic pressure test can detect the overall sealing of the iron barrel to ensure that the iron barrel will not leak during transportation and storage.
Air pressure test: Fill the tinplate pails with gas, then apply a certain pressure, and observe whether the iron barrel leaks. The air pressure test can detect the tiny leakage of the iron barrel. For some iron barrels with higher requirements, such as iron barrels used to package flammable and explosive items, the air pressure test is an indispensable test item.
Strength test
Pressure test: Place the iron barrel on the pressure testing machine, gradually apply pressure, and observe whether the iron barrel is deformed or cracked. The pressure test can detect whether the strength of the iron barrel meets the requirements and ensure that the iron barrel can withstand a certain pressure during transportation and storage.
Drop test: Drop the iron barrel freely from a certain height to observe whether the iron barrel is deformed, cracked or leaked. The drop test can simulate the falling of the iron barrel during transportation and test the impact resistance of the iron barrel.
Through the above quality inspection methods, the quality of the iron barrel can be effectively guaranteed to ensure that the iron barrel is safe and reliable during transportation and storage.
